DESCRIPTION
Florida Grand Opera (FGO) is seeking a creative, highly motivated individual to serve as Technical Director. FGO is beginning its 68th season and is planning the construction of rehearsal facility located in the brand new administrative building. Applicants must have a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of technical theatre production, organization and management. Applicants must have good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to oversee safety issues in compliance with all state, federal and union regulations. As well as a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Vectorworks, Excel and Word, the ability to read and understand technical drawings, maintain a budget and supervise large-scale union crews, and three to five years professional experience. Previous opera experience desirable but not required. Possession of valid driver’s license is required. The position is open immediately; applications will be accepted until the position is filled. This position is a full-time, year-round, salaried position with benefits. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
