Glimmerglass Opera, located in Cooperstown, NY, presents four new productions in rotating rep during July and August in a 900-seat proscenium, non-union house and seeks a year-round, full-time Costume Director. The Costume Director is responsible for hiring and supervising a seasonal staff of 30+, collaborating with Costume Designers, coordinating with contract shops, helping to create and meet materials/labor budgets, maintaining stock and facilitating rentals. Seasonally, with the shop manager, the Costume Director will organize build/fitting schedules, oversee fittings, supervise shopping, oversee execution of notes and costume maintenance. Applicants should have superior knowledge of costume construction, significant costume administration experience and strong leadership and communication skills. Previous repertory experience preferred. This salaried with benefits position will begin immediately.
