Organization and Mission
Celebrating more than 32 years of service to its community and beyond, Rogue Opera is a rising star on the operatic stage. Rogue Opera is ideally situated between Portland, Oregon and San Francisco in the beautiful Rogue Valley on the I-5 corridor. It operates on an annual budget of approximately $400,000, with one full-time and three part-time staff members, a 13-member Board of Directors and numerous dedicated volunteers. There are robust and successful fundraising and marketing programs already in place, significant community goodwill and an excellent regional reputation upon which to build even greater audience participation, community engagement and artistic recognition in coming seasons. Founded in 1976 by a group of musicians associated with Southern Oregon University, Rogue Opera is one of only four opera companies in Oregon and the only opera company between Eugene and Sacramento. Our mission is "to present high quality opera to regional audiences, to train young performers and to direct its resources into the education and enrichment of our youth and community.”
