Opera Conference 2007: Opera of the Americas
Miami, Florida
April 25-29
OPERA America’s annual conference is the largest gathering of opera professionals, and given the amount of exciting experimentation now taking place across the field, this is an important opportunity to learn from and with each other. We will discuss ways to enhance the quality of our productions, promote the art form, and improve our business practices. And the city of Miami — an international cultural center that unites the Western hemisphere — provides a stimulating environment in which to do it. 2007 conference highlights include:
| • | Keynote Address by composer Osvaldo Golijov | |
| • | A seminar on groundbreaking new negotiation techniques developed and tested by the Harvard Negotiation Project | |
| • | Host Company Reception and Network Dinners on South Beach | |
| • | Florida Grand Opera's world premiere performance of David Carlson and Colin Graham's Anna Karenina | |
| • | Concentrated programming around two topics of special focus: Governance and Repertoire |
As always, the conference will include a multitude of learning and networking opportunities for every specialty within the opera industry, including General Directors, Artistic/Singer Training, Development, Education, Finance/Administration, Marketing/PR, Technical/Production, and Trustees.
Registrations received before March 9, 2007 qualify for an Early Bird Discount.
