The Cultural Data Project (formerly the Professional Opera Survey)

OPERA America is going paperless!
The deadline to complete the surveys is June 30, 2011.

After one year of partnership with OPERA America, the Cultural Data Project (CDP) continues to grow and serve its mission to strengthen the cultural sector. More than 180 different grants programs are using the CDP, and research using CDP data is informing advocates and policymakers of the impact, assets and needs of the arts community.

OPERA America and the Cultural Data Project are pleased to announce that the Data Profile and the Professional Opera Survey for 2009-2010 are now active.

This online tool will enable your organization to:
  • Instantly produce a variety of reports designed to help increase management capacity, identify strengths and challenges, and inform decision-making;
  • Empower your research and advocacy staff with information to make the case for arts and culture;
  • Compare itself to financially-similar organizations throughout the nonprofit world; and
  • Track trends and benchmark progress.

OPERA America members in CDP states (California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania) can use the CDP as one part of their grant applications to participating funders. As others states adopt the CDP, more and more member organizations will share this benefit.
