Collaborations

OPERA America has taken a leadership role in working with our colleagues in the performing arts to conduct research, share information, and advocate for the performing arts.

  American Arts Alliance
The American Arts Alliance is a national network of more than 3,000 members comprising the professional, nonprofit performing arts and presenting fields. For 27 years, the American Arts Alliance has been the premier advocate for America 's professional nonprofit arts organizations, artists, and their publics before the U.S. Congress and key policy makers. Through legislative and grassroots action, the American Arts Alliance advocates for national policies that recognize, enhance, and foster the contributions the performing arts make to America.

  MusicVista.org
Musicvista.org provides access to information from eight of the nation's leading music service organizations in one place. The partner organizations are American Composers Forum, American Music Center , American Symphony Orchestra League, Association of Performing Arts Presenters, Chamber Music America, Chorus America, Meet the Composer, and OPERA America.

  National Performing Arts Convention
Every four years, the nonprofit performing arts sector gathers to demonstrate the dimension of the sector and its value to civic life — in cultural, educational, and economic terms. Bringing together artists, arts administrators, trustees, volunteers, and audiences, the Convention promotes the arts and arts issues into the national dialogue. The first such convention was held in Pittsburgh in 2004. The second Convention is now being planned for 2008 in Denver .

The Performing Arts Research Coalition (PARC)
The Performing Arts Research Coalition is a collaborative project funded by The Pew Charitable Trusts and created to improve and coordinate the way performing arts organizations gather information on the sector. Six major national service organizations in the performing arts collaborated in this project: American Symphony Orchestra League, Association of Performing Arts Presenters, Chorus America , Dance/USA, OPERA America , and Theatre Communications Group. Publications resulting from this research can be downloaded by following the link above.
