Emerging Artist Recital Series: Arizona Opera Studio Artists

Discover the future of opera in recital. Companies from around the United States present the most promising singers from their professional training programs and winners of prestigious competitions.

In residence all season, Arizona Opera Studio Artists can be seen performing on both the company’s main stage and throughout Arizona. Founded in 2006, the Studio provides well-rounded, personalized instruction aimed at bridging the gap between academic studies and professional life and helping artists to reach the next level of their careers.

Tickets are $25 for non-members and $10 for members. Visit operaamerica.org/Recitals to register. This event will also be live streamed at operaamerica.org/Live.

Community Event: The Werther Effect and Romantic-era Perceptions of Suicide

Dr. Michelle Faubert, Associate Professor, Dept. of English, Film, and Theatre, University of Manitoba, will  discuss the literary and cultural influences of Goethe’s novel The Sorrows of Young Werther, and explore Romantic-era notions of suicide as a theme in literature.

Presentation will also include select arias from Massenet’s Werther performanced by tenor Robert MacLaren and pianist Laura Loewen.
