The Colburn School in Los Angeles is seeking a Vice President of Communications. The Colburn School, founded in 1950, seeks to provide the highest quality performing arts education at all levels of development in an optimal learning environment. The School has three divisions: the School of the Performing Arts, the Conservatory of Music and the Academy. The Vice President of Communications reports to the President/CEO and is responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of the communications strategy for the School including marketing, advertising, public relations, media relations, print and publications, graphic design and digital marketing, including social media.
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent, with at least 8 to 10 years of experience in public relations, marketing and communications, preferably in performing arts music school(s), performing arts organization(s), and/or higher education. Strong leadership and effective operational and strategic management skills; demonstrated experience managing, mentoring and motivating a staff; the ability to inspire those working with him/her toward accomplishing shared objectives as well as creativity, energy, self-confidence and flexibility are highly desired.
