Description: Linked by a brief love affair in their past, Count Nekhlyudov and the prostitute Maslova surprisingly rediscover each other at a trial, where Maslova is the accused and Nekhlyudov sits on the jury. Maslova's conviction leads to a physical journey+--+she in a prison car to Siberia, with Nekhlyudov following all the way to seek her forgiveness+--+but also to a spiritual and metaphorical one, through which new life springs in the hearts of both characters, though in surprisingly different ways as both are "resurrected" by the end.
