Description: Set in Boston shortly before the American Revolution, the opera centers on a naive country boy who comes to seek out a rich and powerful Tory relative in hopes of advancement. What he finds is a city beset by rabid political conflict. When his relative finally appears, he has been tarred and feathered by revolutionaries, and in the end is assassinated before the boy's eyes.
