Description: Set in the Chinese community in Houston, TX Tells the story of three generations of Chinese Americans as they reconcile their differences and live with pride in modern America while retaining their cultural identity
Comments: Commissioned through Song of Houston's “East + West” program, a four-year (2010-2014) program which celebrates Houston as a meeting place for Eastern and Western cultures. This series of chamber operas will explore the relationship between first- and second-generation immigrants, displacement of war refugees, storytelling traditions and cultural inheritance.
