The Wedding takes place in the coal mining country of 1870’s Pennsylvania. A Catholic seminarian returns home for the wedding of his sister to an idealistic labor organizer. He soon finds himself drawn to the fragile beauty of the local mine owner’s daughter. Developing is a murderous clash of cultural forces of the time – the poor Irish coal miners and their families, the volatile Molly McGuire society, the Catholic Church, and the growing labor movement.
