Artist Scholarships to National Performing Arts Convention
Now Available

To encourage our individual artist members to attend this summer's National Performing Arts Convention (NPAC) and Opera Conference 2008 in Denver, Colorado, from June 11-14, OPERA America will provide a limited number of scholarships that cover the cost of registration for NPAC and Opera Conference 2008 (a $495 value). In addition, scholarship recipients will receive subsidies toward convention- and conference-related expenses including travel and affordable lodging. Publisher Resources
OPERA America has awarded nearly $20 million over the last 25 years to support the premieres and subsequent productions of opera and music-theater pieces created by North American composers and librettists. In addition to offering financial support to companies' new works endeavors, OPERA America provides the means for publishers to promote their artists and connect with other professionals in the field. Many of the services we provide to composers and librettists will also be of use.

New Works Directory: This listing of new works keeps readers abreast of new opera and music-theater and aims to connect composers and librettists with potential producers.

Listserve: Composers, librettists and staff members at member opera companies can subscribe to NewOpera-L, connecting them with colleagues around the country to ask questions and share information and resources.

Conferences and Conventions: OPERA America’s annual conference is the largest gathering of opera professionals in North America. Also included is a link to the National Performing Arts Convention, held every four years.

Making Connections: This series, held at OPERA America’s New York offices, consists of professional development and networking events for all opera artists.

Workshops: OPERA America hosts professional development workshops across the country with experts from the field who provide business and career advice for emerging artists.

Opera Source: Opera Source contains the most recent information available on auditions and other upcoming events, as well as general information on thousands of mainstage, training, educational, management and competition opportunities from a range of organizations.
