Artist Scholarships to National Performing Arts Convention Now Available
To encourage our individual artist members to attend this summer's National Performing Arts Convention (NPAC) and Opera Conference 2008 in Denver, Colorado, from June 11-14, OPERA America will provide a limited number of scholarships that cover the cost of registration for NPAC and Opera Conference 2008 (a $495 value). In addition, scholarship recipients will receive subsidies toward convention- and conference-related expenses including travel and affordable lodging. National Singer Training Forum: Comprising stakeholders in the field of opera, the National Singer Training Forum gathers twice each year to discuss critical issues concerning the training and career development of young artists.
Opera Source: Opera Source contains the most recent information available on auditions and other upcoming events, as well as general information on thousands of mainstage, training, educational, management and competition opportunities from a range of organizations.
Workshops: OPERA America hosts professional development workshops across the country with experts from the field who provide business and career advice for emerging artists.
Making Connections: This series, held at OPERA America’s New York offices, consists of professional development and networking events for all opera artists.
Conferences and Conventions: OPERA America’s annual conference is the largest gathering of opera professionals in North America. Also included is a link to the National Performing Arts Convention, held every four years.
Production Directory: This searchable online directory features production-related personnel, resident theater information and information regarding rental inventories of sets, costumes, props, musical materials, titles and translations at OPERA America’s member companies.
Singer Self-Inventory: With the assistance of professionals across the field, OPERA America has compiled a list of important skills and traits for the professional singer to help your students or young artists assess their strengths and weaknesses.
