Ben Moore The music of Ben Moore has been performed by Deborah Voigt, Susan Graham, Frederica von Stade, Nathan Gunn and Audra McDonald, and has been recorded on the EMI, SonyBMG and Warner Classics labels. His first opera, Enemies, a Love Story (libretto by Nahma Sandrow) was given a workshop with orchestra at Kentucky Opera in 2011 and was funded in part by a grant from OPERA America. His work has been heard at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and the Metropolitan Opera. In 2006, the Met’s farewell gala, broadcast nationally on PBS, for Joseph Volpe opened with his piece for Deborah Voigt and also featured a song for Susan Graham. Upcoming CDs include a recording of his three major song cycles, So Free Am I, Dear Theo and Ode to a Nightingale, to be released by Delos records. Moore’s work also includes musical theater, cabaret, chamber music and choral music.
