Jake Heggie Jake Heggie is the American composer of the operas
Moby-Dick (libretto: Gene Scheer),
Dead Man Walking (libretto: Terrence McNally),
To Hell and Back (Scheer),
Three Decembers (Scheer) and
For a Look or a Touch (Scheer),
and more than 200 art songs, orchestral and chamber music. As pianist and composer, he collaborates with many singers, including Joyce DiDonato, Susan Graham, Frederica von Stade, Talise Trevigne, Ben Heppner, Stephen Costello and Nathan Gunn. His songs and cycles are programmed internationally and the operas have been produced by dozens of companies around the world. Heggie also coaches young singers, pianists and composers at universities throughout the U.S., as well as summer festivals including SongFest in Los Angeles. He is currently composing
Great Scott (libretto: Terrence McNally),
a new opera for
Joyce DiDonato, commissioned by The Dallas Opera for its 2015 season. Heggie lives in San Francisco.
Nathan Wyatt Praised in
The Baltimore Sun for his "sensitive and natural" voice, baritone
Nathan Wyatt has recently performed as Guglielmo in
Così fan tutte, Le Director in
Les Mamelles de Tirésias and the title role in
Don Giovanni. In November 2011, Wyatt made his Carnegie Hall debut in Honneger's
Jeanne d'Arc au bûcher with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In June 2012, he premiered William Bolcom's "Gettysburg, July 1, 1863," a commission by SongFest with the support of The Sorel Organization. At SongFest, Wyatt was the recipient of the Marc and Eva Stern Fellowship in both 2011 and 2012. Upcoming performances include the world premiere of Jake Heggie's "Epilogue: Under the Blessing of your Psyche Wings" at the opening ceremony of the National Opera Center and the role of Robert Kennedy in the world premiere of Joshua Bornfield's
Camelot Requiem.
Lucas Wong
Harold Shapiro Lucas Wong is based in New York and he is one of very few pianists who performs Liszt-Berlioz's
Symphonie Fantastique around the world. As a collaborator, Wong appeared with violinist Soovin Kim and bassoonist Frank Morelli at Banff Centre. Wong was the assistant conductor at New York City Opera in 2011-2012. He worked with William Bolcom on the world premiere commissioned by SongFest, where he was on faculty. Wong has an earned doctorate from Yale School of Music.
