Overview
OPERA America's Artistic Services department
serves creative and performing artists and the professionals who work with them. The department conducts a series of professional development workshops across the country for opera artists. These workshops focus on the business aspects of a career, including building a professional network. OPERA America creates an atmosphere that encourages connections among registrants and panelists. In addition to interactive sessions, the programming allows plenty of time for one-on-one communication. Recent workshops have been held for singers, composers and librettists, and technical/production personnel.

Feedback
“It was really wonderful to be a part of such an esteemed group of colleagues. The logistics were all perfect and the feedback from the attendees, during the breaks and receptions, was very generous.”
— Bill Palant, Vice President, Artist Manager, IMG Artists
“It seemed to me that the singers who attended were definitely taking full advantage of the extraordinary opportunity presented to them. I was thrilled, too, that every panelist seemed so completely a giver — a sharer of information and experiences. As a result, every singer who attended seemed to come away with an immensely expanded frame of reference for the future.”
— Roger Pines, Dramaturg, Lyric Opera of Chicago
"Very informative! It demystified a great deal for me, and I am grateful that I was able to hear from such an outstanding array of professionals."
"The workshop was a wonderful experience, very well planned and very well executed. I feel so much more prepared for whatever lies ahead."
"I have so many ideas that I would never have thought of or acted on before coming here. I am very excited about the future because of the information I gleaned at this workshop."
"Thank you for putting together such a fascinating program. I learned a lot and will happily recommend it to others!"
"While not my first experience with seminars geared to help the young professional, it was certainly the best. You seemed to think of everything."
"It was truly a wonderful experience. I am still digesting all the information I received. I can't wait for the next workshop, and I wonder how I lived before OPERA America."
