Business Manager

The Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation, which supports director Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center – www.watermillcenter.org, is seeking a Business Manager who will report directly to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities of the Business Manager will consist of managing and overseeing the daily accounting operations including month and year-end processing, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, assisting the Managing Director with the budget process and preparation of financial reports, cash flow management, investment account statement reconciliations, and coordinating the annual audit. Employee will support proper accounting methods and policies, strive to ensure compliance and accuracy, and establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.

Candidate should have an accounting or finance bachelor’s degree.  3 or more years of professional experience with a nonprofit arts organization is preferred.  Organizational and interpersonal skills, along with a high attention to detail, and problem solving skills are a must.  Additionally, candidates should have extensive knowledge of MS Office and Quickbooks as well as an understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
