Opera Saratoga seeks experienced carpenters for the 2018 season, June 6 - July 19, 2018. Excellent theatrical carpentry skills, the ability to manage time well, and ability to work with shop staff in a repertory festival Opera setting. The Scenic Carpenter fabricates scenery for productions, installs and tests scenic elements and equipment in the theater, works with shop for all load-ins, changeovers, and strike. Must have strong theatrical construction background. Candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of power tools, OSHA standards, carpentry, paint, and theatrical rigging. Additional experience in tool maintenance and/or welding is a plus. Candidate must be comfortable working at heights and able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Please send cover letter, resume and references to Robert Signom III, Production Manager, at production@operasaratoga.org.
