"Mad About You" ("La Folia")

WHAT:  Ensemble Leonarda is pleased to announce a collaboration with Filmelodic on their "La Folia" project (film + live music). A visual anthology of 24 short stories, this 12-minute film is drawn from the imaginations of over a dozen different people and all inspired by variations on the same ancient melody. Ensemble Leonarda will explore works from such composers as Geminiani, Purcell, J.S. Bach, and Handel, who were among the over 150 baroque composers inspired by this tune.
 
WHO: Ensemble Leonarda:  Susan Graham, flute; Claire Smith Bermingham, violin; Matt Zucker, cello; Nancy Kito, harpsichord. With Lauren Alfano-Ishida, soprano.
