Opera Teens Privacy Policy

Opera Teens Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 1, 2020

Privacy Is Important
OPERA America is committed to protecting the privacy of participants in the Opera Teens program. We want to foster discussion and facilitate connections between young opera enthusiasts.  We will collect some information from participants, but we want you to know exactly when we are collecting information, what we will collect and how we will use it. Before you submit anything to us, please be sure you are comfortable with the terms below. We encourage you to talk to your parents or another adult you trust about this policy. By submitting information, you will be accepting this privacy policy.

When We Register Your Council As Pat of Opera Teens
There are two ways to work as an Opera Teen. You may join a preexisting Regional Council (affiliated with an OPERA America Professional Company Member) or start a Regional Council as an Individual. We will collect and store the information that you send us about participants and your council.

What We Collect
OPERA America collects standard contact information: as a Council, we will ask for your Council name and location; the founding participant’s name, email, school and grade; and a sponsor’s name, e-mail, phone number, and organization (if applicable). As an individual, we will collect name, location, email, and grade information.

How We Use It
We will use this information to keep you informed about the activities of the OPERA America National Council and to provide you and your Council with information, event invitations, resources, and updates related to Opera Teens.

What We Won’t Do
We will not sell your information. We will not knowingly solicit for contributions or membership, or share information outside of OPERA America unless we have your permission or prior consent or it is aggregate information that does not identify you personally.

Minors
Opera Teens is a program that is designed for high school age students. As a nonprofit, we are not required to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), but we still kindly ask that all users of the site be at least 13 years old. If we find you are under 13, we will remove you from our lists.
