Reporting to
the Associate Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager plays a vital role
within HGO’s fast-paced Audiences Department, leading multi-channel advertising
and promotional campaigns that elevate the HGO brand and drive ticket sales,
retention, and audience engagement. The role manages paid advertising across
multiple channels, direct mail, email marketing, and serves as a key project
manager to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with
organizational goals supporting single ticket, subscription, and group sales.

Key
Responsibilities
·
Work
with the Associate Director of Marketing to plan, manage, and execute
multi-channel advertising and promotional campaigns in support of subscription
and single ticket sales, including paid, organic, trade, and barter efforts.
·
Act
as the point of contact for HGO’s paid advertising campaigns, ensuring
campaigns launch accurately and on schedule across digital, print, radio, and
television platforms.

Responsible
for writing clear, compelling marketing copy and perform thorough proofreading
to ensure accuracy and consistency across multiple channels.
·
Support
audience segmentation efforts by collaborating with the Marketing Data Manager
to compile, update, and maintain database assets for marketing use.
·
Manage
HGO’s direct mail campaigns, including copywriting, list development,
coordination of discount and promotional offer requests, and alignment with
campaign messaging.

Create
promotional plans for themed nights, ticketing offers, and unique experience to
targeted audiences, including new-to-opera guests and specific ticket holder
demographic.
·
Coordinate
with the design team to request and develop creative assets needed for
advertising efforts.
·
Monitor
and evaluate campaign performance, measuring ROI, and create and distribute
executive level reports by repertoire period with successes and growth
opportunities based on campaign results.
·
Oversee
campaign budgets, ensuring all expenses are properly allocated and invoices are
reconciled accurately and promptly.
·
Partner
closely with Communications colleagues to ensure campaign messaging and
promotions are clearly communicated internally, including the development of
talking points for Customer Care and Philanthropy teams.
·
Perform
various other tasks that may be assigned by the Associate Director of
Marketing, Director of Marketing, or Chief Marketing & Experience Officer.
Qualifications
·
Bachelor’s
degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or sales with 5+ years of
relevant experience.
·
Expertise
in copywriting and proofreading is required.
·
Experience
managing advertising campaigns including digital, email, and print is desired.
·
Experience
working in a CRM database system (especially Tessitura) is a plus. Experience
in performing arts is a plus.
·
Must
be able to work some evenings/weekends.
Special
Job Characteristics
Ability to
work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, high energy and exceptionally
strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must. An eye for detail and
quality control is imperative, as well as being able to multi-task and
prioritize effectively. A polished approach in presenting sales and campaign
information, a proactive and collaborative professional manner required.
