Development, Marketing, and Artistic Associate


DESCRIPTION

Reports to: General and Artistic Director

Classification: Full-time, exempt

Development:

Responsible for all aspects of fundraising and donor cultivation associated with Shreveport Opera. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and execute Shreveport Opera’s annual fundraising plan

  • Manage and implement all fundraising mail campaigns

  • Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations

  • Manage the implementation of usable data software

  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors

  • Creating and executing a strategy for a large, sustained base of annual individual donors

  • Developing and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising

  • Other duties as needed.

Marketing:

Work directly with the General & Artistic Director to implement the public vision and awareness of Shreveport Opera in the Ark-La-Tex region. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Create, Manage and oversee all forms of media coverage – broadcast, print & social for any and all Shreveport Opera productions and events

  • Coordinate advertising in our season program

  • Manage trades with local partners for needed services

  • General media coverage in local broadcast/print organizations…Shreveport Times, The Advocate, SB Magazine, Television

  • With the GD/AD, create and implement a social media strategy

  • Coordinate website and social media updates

  • Other duties as needed.

Artistic Coordination:

  • Assists Artists with needs before and during the rehearsal/production period. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collect bios, headshots, releases, etc. from Artists for promotional and program purposes.

  • Collect measurements from Artists for Costume Coordinator

  • Make travel arrangements for incoming artists including booking flights, reserving rental cars, and coordinating homestays.

  • Meet arriving Artists at the airport, assist with securing their rental cars, and escort them to and assist with homestay check-ins.

  • Address Artist needs when possible and liaise between the artists and the Company when needed.

  • Assist the General and Artistic Director with production rental research as needed.

  • Other duties as needed.

Administration:

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of office which includes the additional spaces (e.g., the rehearsal room, all performance venues, and event locations, etc.). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist the General and Artistic Director with the creation and formatting of supertitles

  • Assist the General and Artistic Director with the creation and formatting of programs

  • Assist the General and Artistic Director in researching productions

  • Assist the Director of Patron Services with ticket sales and other Patron requests

  • Proof all outgoing documents including grant applications, donor and sponsor letters, contracts, etc.

  • Other duties as needed.

Minimum qualifications:

Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel required; proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator a plus; excellent written and verbal skills; self-motivated and task-oriented as workflow will increase and decrease depending on the time of year. This is an excellent position for recent Arts Administration graduates or those looking to transition to Arts Admin.

Hours:

Daily hours are flexible; evening and weekends hours will be required during rehearsal periods, productions, and events.



SALARY RANGE: 40000 - 40000

BENEFITS

Pay Range: $40,000 - $40,000 Annual
