Grant Winners: 2025 Commissioning Grants for Women Composers
OPERA America recently awarded a total of $135,000 in Commissioning Grants to five Professional Company Members in support of commissions of women composers. Each grant funds a portion of the commissioning fee for a full production of a new work.
Commissioning Grants are part of the Opera Grants for Women Composers program, which since 2014 has awarded over $2.2 million toward new works by women, helping to increase gender parity on opera’s stages
