Part-Time Web Designer (UX + Graphic Design)

Florida Grand Opera | Miami, FL | Hybrid or Remote Eligible
Florida Grand Opera, one of the oldest performing arts organizations in Florida with a rich 83-year legacy, is seeking a part-time Web Designer to help enhance and maintain our website with limited oversight. The ideal candidate is a highly creative and technically skilled individual who understands the intersection of beautiful design, user experience, and performance.
Responsibilities:
Lead visual and functional improvements to the FGO website, ensuring it remains elegant, intuitive, and easy to navigate.
Regularly update site content, images, and layouts based on programmatic needs, announcements, or seasonal campaigns.
Work within and gradually transition the site from WPBakery to Elementor, improving page speed and backend efficiency.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency with the FGO brand and optimize for audience engagement.
Troubleshoot bugs, plug-in issues, and mobile responsiveness.
Propose creative solutions to modernize the site and enhance storytelling through layout and design.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in UX/UI design and graphic design, with a portfolio of visually rich, user-friendly websites.
Proficiency in WordPress, Elementor, and WPBakery (with a readiness to phase out the latter).
Strong understanding of mobile-first design, accessibility standards, and responsive frameworks.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
Bonus: familiarity with arts organizations or nonprofit websites.
Schedule & Compensation:
Part-time, flexible hours (approx. 10–15 hours/week).
Remote or hybrid work environment.
Hourly rate based on experience.

Pay Range: $2,000 - $2,000 Monthly
