Email and Digital Marketing Manager
DESCRIPTION
PURPOSE: To create and manage strategic e-mail campaigns that invite and inform audiences and grow revenue.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Serve as primary content manager for SFO’s email program.
Assist in writing and editing all emails as needed.
Create, manage, route, and execute outbound e-mail communications for the Marketing department and other patron-facing departments as needed.
Manage, and coordinate e-mail request schedule in accordance with the department’s marketing strategies and initiatives.
Ensure all emails are consistent in tone and language and reflect the overall strategy and brand of the institution.
Create, develop, and maintain a consistent email style guide across the organization and its various channels and departments.
Set analytics benchmarks and goals; compile and distribute reports on email analytics participation; make recommendations based on thorough evaluation of analytics with oversight from the Associate Director of Marketing.
Manage SMS marketing campaigns
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Keep ahead of e-marketing trends, innovations and emergent interactive technologies; make recommendations on new features and applications to keep the San Francisco Opera's position as an innovator in the field.
Contribute as an active part of the marketing team supporting all audience development, patron retention, advertising, and promotional strategies to meet institutional goals.
Collaborate with Associate Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager, and Marketing Manager, Digital and Acquisition to establish, monitor, and maintain SF Opera’s brand voice across all platforms.
Set email strategy and brand in alignment with Marketing Manager, Brand and Loyalty, and Marketing Manager, Digital and Acquisition.
Further organizational efforts in online ticketing and fundraising initiatives.
Assist in content creation for the company, including but not limited to social media content and articles for the San Francisco Opera Blog and other digital publications.
Attend evening and/or weekend performances/events as requested to perform related job functions.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two to four years of related work experience in email marketing and web technologies.
PREREQUISITE SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
Possess a strong understanding of email marketing technology.
Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS.
2 or more years of experience using Wordfly, Prospect2, or other similar provider experience.
Experience with SMS technology and marketing strategies.
Strong writer and careful editor.
Stellar verbal and written communication skills.
Experience providing audience segmentation analysis and email data reports.
Experience working with Tessitura CRM, segmenting audiences, and pulling appropriate segmented data lists
Experience managing multilayered projects with diverse stakeholders.
Detail oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driving environment.
A collaborative spirit and ability to engage colleagues and leadership.
Excellent organizational skills and efficient time management.
Proficient in Microsoft programs. Ability to learn other software programs as needed.
Ability to take initiative and work independently.
Knowledge of opera / performing arts preferred.
Must perform the functions of the position in a safe manner.
BENEFITS
Pay Range: $70,000 - $78,000 Annual
This position is eligible for benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, Retirement accounts and other perks.
