Position Title: Civic Engagement & Audience Development Manager
Reports to: VP, Impact
Status: Full Time, Exempt
Classification: Hybrid (3 days on campus, 2 days optional office/remote); occasional nights/weekends
Salary Range: $55,000 to $60,000, depending on qualifications, and a generous benefits package (paid vacation, sick days, health, dental, vision, flex spending, life/disability insurance, 403B)
SUMMARY
The Civic Engagement and Audience Development Manager plays a crucial role in the development and execution of MNOP’s community and audience development work. In addition to managing a portfolio of community partners, the Civic Engagement and Audience Development Manager oversees events and initiatives designed to deepen the company’s relationship with the surrounding community. This position reports to the VP, Impact and works collaboratively to advance the work of the Impact Department and the company at large. The Manager works closely with the Marketing, Production, Finance, and Artistic departments and occasionally supervises volunteers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management & Delivery
· Collaborate with VP, Impact to create, develop, and implement engagement and audience development initiatives and goals for each season.
· Provide logistical, operational, and production support for all virtual and in-person engagement events.
· Manage a portfolio of community partners in conjunction with past and present civic engagement events and initiatives.
· Maintain communication pipeline with reputable community arts and cultural organizations for the continued support of Impact initiatives.
· Collaborate with VP, Impact to assess effectiveness of strategies and initiatives.
Administrative
· Manage civic engagement/audience development projects.
· Submit artist and event request forms for all civic engagement and audience development events.
· Draft contracts, coordinate travel, and work with finance to ensure timely compensation of guest speakers, artists, and community partners associated with civic engagement/audience development events.
· Submit marketing requests in conjunction with civic engagement/audience development events and disseminate marketing materials to partnering organizations.
· Track attendance and engagement for all events and initiatives associated with Civic Engagement and Audience Development.
· Other administrative duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
· Excellent judgment and analytical abilities.
· Knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products.
· Outstanding communication skills with the ability to collaborate with a variety of colleagues from performers to management.
· Ability to work and think independently, but also able to work well in a larger team.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop and maintain administrative systems.
WORK CONDITIONS
· This position will work some evenings and weekends with advance notice.
· This position requires the ability to work at a desk in front of a screen.
· Must be able to kneel, twist, and bend on a regular basis.
· Must have access to a personal vehicle.

The applicant will be expected either to reside within commuting distance of the Opera Center or be willing to relocate prior to beginning work.
