Gala/Fundraiser: Sixth Annual Voice Gala “La Follia”

Web Address: http://voicexperiencefoundation.org/voice-gala/
Start Time: 6:00PM

Celebrate with Sherrill Milnes and friends this April Fool’s Day with an elegant and lighthearted evening at the Harmonie Club. Renowned mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves joins Milnes to host this annual celebration of opera and song to benefit arts education for VOICExperience, a Sherrill Milnes VOICE Program. Proceeds from this evening will support VOICExperience in perpetuating the legacy of the vocal arts through life-changing incentives, performances, and community enriching outreach events in New York, Georgia (with Savannah VOICE Festival), Florida and Illinois. Last year, students received over $82,000 with the help of this event’s contributions. During this “Night of Fun,” Milnes and co-founder Maria Zouves will be joined by alumni of the VOICE Programs in an entertaining night of world class music and reflections on the golden age of opera. VOICE Alumni Santiago Ballerini, tenor and Amy Shoremount-Obra, soprano will lead the performances, joined by other Milnes VOICE artists in a celebration of vocal excellence. Continuing a much-loved tradition, the evening will feature the presentation of the 2019 Milnes VOICE Award. This year’s honoree will be soprano, Martina Arroyo, a legendary Metropolitan Opera of Milnes’ generation. To purchase tickets or for an exclusive invitation to the gala, please call or email. Please RSVP by March 22nd. The attire is formal and festive.
