The NYOA Quarterly meeting will continue our discussion of Opera Through a Modern Lens: GENDER, with Laura Lee Everett, Director of Artistic Services at OPERA America, giving a presentation about the Women's Opera Network.
Women represent more than half of the national population, yet the percentage of women in leadership roles within the field of opera is comparatively small. OPERA America is addressing these issues by convening a group of stakeholders (female and male) to explore and work actively to advance gender parity field-wide. Learn how the WON works to increase awareness of and discussion about diversity and gender parity in the field, create action plans to promote the advancement of talented women, and become a source of support for emerging female professionals.
Drinks and light bites provided. Tuesday, July 10
Doors open at 5:30pm, Presentation at 6pm
