World Opera Forum 2018: A Summary

The 2018 World Opera Forum united the global opera industry in a discussion about the future of the art form.

One hundred delegates from Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Australia, and beyond came together in Madrid on April 12–15, 2018, hosted by the Teatro Real and Opera Europa.

This report summarizes the conversations around four central themes: cultural heritage, new work, diversity, and advocacy. It highlights the many challenges and opportunities shared by the global opera community.
