Position:  Director of Development

Location:  Portland Opera’s Office at The World Trade Center in Portland, Oregon

*In-office position

The role reports to the General Director and oversees the implantation of a strategic approach to fundraising which includes major gifts, corporate donations, grant solicitation, and in-kind resources. 

 

ARE YOU PASSIONATE AND INTRIGUED BY? 

  • Managing and providing leadership to the Development Staff

  • Coordinating and implementing annual, project, event, planned giving and capital fundraising strategies and activities

  • Overseeing relationships with Major Donors and the Board of Directors including recruitment of board members, strategic planning, and leadership development

  • Cultivating and expanding current giving by planned gift donors and integrate planned gift objectives into major individual donor request in collaboration with the General Director

  • Performing ongoing fundraising research and needs assessments

  • Preparing department budgets

 

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

·         Bachelor's Degree

·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fundraising 7 staff management

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Understanding of AFP Code of Ethical Standards

·         Familiarity with donor database systems, Tessitura

·         Familiarity with prospect research and/or planned giving

  • Compensation Structure: This position offers an annual exempt salary wage of $95,000+ dependent on experience, with the below benefits:
