Opera Tampa
Now celebrating its 30th season, Opera Tampa is the resident opera company of the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Opera Tampa produces and presents the highest caliber of grand opera. The elaborate, full-scale productions feature international performers, the full Opera Tampa Orchestra and the Opera Tampa Chorus, under the direction of world-renowned conductors such as Jorge Parodi, Andrew Bisantz and Anthony Barrese. Opera Tampa often performs in the Straz Center’s spectacular Carol Morsani Hall, which was designed as a classic horseshoe opera house in the style of the grand opera houses of Europe. The remarkable, near-perfect acoustics in Morsani Hall were designed by the late Russell Johnson.
