Can I register for the World Opera Forum and Opera Conference at the same time?
When you register, you'll be given the opportunity to register for Opera Conference, the World Opera Forum, or both events.
To register for both events, please choose the registration item named "World Opera Forum & Opera Conference Combo" in the registration portal.
If you’ve already registered for one event and would like to add a registration to the other, click on the "Already Registered" button on the Registration page, enter your info, deselect your initial registration, and choose the "World Opera Forum & Opera Conference Combo” to add the second event to your registration.

I’m a member of OPERA America. Do I qualify for a member rate?
OPERA America members qualify for the Member Rates. You can learn more about all the registration types on the Registration page.

I’m a creative artist who has received an OPERA America grant that includes conference registration. How do I register for the conference? How do I register for World Opera Forum?
Grantees eligible for a complimentary Opera Conference registration will receive specific instructions via email from an OPERA America staff member.
These instructions will also address how to register for the World Opera Forum.
If you believe you might have a special registration as a grantee and haven't received instructions, please email Conference@operaamerica.org for more information.
What is an Independent Artist?
An Independent Artist is defined as a singer, instrumentalist, composer, librettist, conductor, director, designer, or other opera-related artist who is not employed long-term at an opera company or institution.
If you are not a member of OPERA America but qualify as an Independent Artist, your registration fee includes a one-year membership to OPERA America.
I can no longer attend World Opera Forum and/or Opera Conference. Can I receive a refund on my registration?
Registrations for Opera Conference and the World Opera Forum are refundable at 80% through April 19, 2024; and at 65% through May 27, 2024, with the following exceptions. No refunds on registration will be issued after May 27, 2024.
Non-Member Independent Artists registrations follow the following refund schedule and retain their Individual Membership to OPERA America after cancellation: (a) Conference-only registrations are refundable for $95 through April 14, 2024; and $70 through May 27, 2024. (b) Forum-only registrations are refundable for $75 through April 14, 2024; and $60 through May 27, 2024. (c) Forum and conference combination registrations are refundable for $170 through April 14, 2024; and $130 through May 27, 2024.
Refunds are not available for the Special Event Pass.
Fees for performances are refundable at 100% through May 17, 2024. No refunds on session and performance fees will be issued after that date.
I utilized a Berwind Stipend for my registration, but can no longer attend the forum and conference. Can I receive a refund on my registration?
If you utilized a Berwind Stipend for your registration and can no longer attend, please contact us at Conference@operaamerica.org at your earliest convenience to notify us of your change of plans.

Is my registration transferable?
Registration may be transferred to another qualified attendee at no charge.
After logging into the registration portal with your confirmation number and email address, edit the full contact information for the alternate attendee. This will ensure that the new attendee receives all communications regarding attendance and will be able to check in at the conference.
I’m interested in becoming a Sponsor or Exhibitor. How do I sign up?
We invite businesses, civic institutions, arts organizations, universities, and foundations to join as partners in presenting the annual conference and second-ever World Opera Forum.

Where do I find additional information about speakers and sessions?
Detailed session information and speakers will be announced as they are finalized.
Where are Opera Conference and the World Opera Forum taking place?
Opera Conference and the World Opera Forum will take place at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel located in downtown Los Angeles, CA.
Performances will take place in Los Angeles and nearby neighborhoods. Read more about the festival offerings on the Performance Festival page.
How can I make hotel arrangements?
The Hotel & Travel page includes all the information about our hotel partner, the Omni Los Angeles Hotel. OPERA America’s attendee rate is $239/night (single or double occupancy), not including taxes. This discounted rate will only be available through May 10, 2024, or until sold out.
What time of day will sessions take place?
Stay tuned for the full agenda for the conference, as the start times for programming will vary. The majority of programming will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. ET, with evening activities scheduled no later than 11:00 p.m.

Do I have to attend every day of the World Opera Forum and/or Opera Conference?
We recommend that participants attend the entirety of each event for continuity and a robust experience; however, we understand this is not always possible.
Single- and Two-Day Passes to Opera Conference will be available for sale beginning April 5, 2023.
Day Passes are not available for the World Opera Forum.
Is there a dress code for Opera Conference and the World Opera Forum?
There is no official dress code for the conference, though attendees often opt for business casual or similar. We encourage conference attendees to wear whatever makes them comfortable. We recommend packing layers as hotel temperatures can be unpredictable.
Will there be photography or videography at Opera Conference and the World Opera Forum?
Yes. Photography, audio, and video recording will occur throughout the week. By entering the event premises, you consent to photography, audio recording, and video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for promotional purposes, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by OPERA America.
What health and safety measures should I be aware of in Los Angeles?
Your health and safety are a top priority for OPERA America.
Attendees should engage in social events to the extent of their own comfort in doing so.
Attendees should recognize that they are traveling/participating at their own risk.
We will continue to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the recommendations of our host state, city, and venues regarding COVID-19 safety measures at the time of convening. These policies are subject to change.

Conference activities taking place in the Omni Hotel Los Angeles are mask-friendly. If you would like to wear a mask, please feel free to do so. We ask that all guests be respectful of one another's choices.

Proof of vaccination is not required for admittance to Opera Conference or the World Opera Forum.
