Firebird Light Opera

Firebird Light Opera (FLO) began with a vision to bring high quality opera, operetta, and golden age Broadway back to Reno as we rise from the ashes of Nevada Opera’s historic glory. We promise to always bring fully realized masterworks to the stage with live orchestras and to strive for fidelity to the spirit of the author and composer’s original intent. OUR MISSION Firebird Light Opera's mission is to bring high-quality light opera and musical theatre to life on the stage. At Firebird, we strive to further enrich the Reno-Tahoe area's cultural landscape by producing substantive theatrical masterwork performances. We aim to connect the community through participation in educational outreach, in-house performance training, live performance opportunities, and collaboration with other Reno based performing arts entities. In this way, we endeavor to foster artistic integrity and a deeper appreciation for opera and musical theatre in the community.
