Oral History Project

OPERA America embarked on an ambitious oral history project as part of its 50th Anniversary — setting out to record the recollections of 75 key figures who have shaped the American opera field over the past 50 years.

The oral histories immortalize the insights and experiences of industry pioneers over the past half-century, with the hope that by sharing these lessons learned, the next generation of leaders will be empowered to build on the efforts of their predecessors; advancing the art form to new audiences.

The Oral History Project is supported by the Arthur F. and Alice E. Adams Charitable Foundation.
